Film Production Colorado

Film Production Colorado with it's history goes back to 1897. Starting from that year and through the next 26 years, hundreds of film shorts were shot in the state. By the 1950s, film producers were picking Colorado for its spectacular scenery as well as its keen services, crews, equipment, talent, and spirit of cooperation.

In 1969 the Colorado Motion Picture and Television Commission( CMPTC) got established as the first legislated film commission in the world. Its objective is to promote Colorado as a great place for location filming while at once serving as a liaison during film production. The CMPTC can help those interested in getting into the film industry.
